Club Events:
Well, not much has changed for our club since the Newsletter last Fall. Covid restrictions continue to keep us from holding any social events but we are still hopeful that the situation will ease in the months to come and that we will, once again, have some gatherings and events as we used to do. As we reported in the last Newsletter, the Board decided not to plan any social activities until such time as the Provincial Health Officer allows large, indoor group activities. There seems to be a certain level of optimism that we may see some Covid restrictions eased this Spring but the pessimists are suggesting that might not happen until later in the year, if at all (some might also suggest this is optimistic!). We keep hoping that perhaps we might be able to hold some sort of outdoor activity like our St. Hans Celebration in June but, we'll have to wait and see. Federal AGM & Conference: As we reported in the last Newsletter the Federation of Danish Associations in Canada held its AGM via Zoom on Saturday, October 2nd last year and officially cancelled the planned Conference & AGM that was was to be hosted by our Club in May of 2022. In its place, our Board has agreed to host their 2023 Conference & AGM on May 26 - 29, 2023. This is now three years running that we have cancelled this event so we remain hopeful that 2023 will bring better times and some sort of "normality". Membership Dues & Ad Fees: We are still NOT collecting any membership dues or Newsletter advertising fees so if you know someone that might like to join our club (in hopes of better times), they can sign up for FREE these days. Membership Application forms are available here:
